Lanvin S/S 2010 Beauty looks : Up dos all the way lanvin ss2010 beauty

There’s something about an up-do that makes even the most beauty resistant lady emit a secret sigh, as there’s nothing overtly feminine and Barbiefied about this style. No ruffles or doilies necessary, just a dab hand with the kirby grips and lip gloss is completely optional. Whilst I tend to fall into the girly category myself, wearing my locks down all the time can be irritating, and it’s sometimes hard to be taken seriously when you’re brushing hair out your mouth. The glamorous up-do was a major trend on Lanvin’s Spring/Summer Catwalk, and we show you how recreate this style in 2010.Precision is everything if it’s a tailored up do you’re after, as whilst stray hairs may give you a wispy vulnerable look, the Lanvin up-do is all about power hair, if teamed with red lips and strong shoulders, so much the better.

To start with you need to brush back the hair as tight as you can, securing it in place with an elastic band. Use bobby pins if necessary to secure it in a high tight ponytail- these Johnny and Rosie ones work well, and give the hair a decorative edge.

Next, twist the ponytail of hair high up onto the head, securing with kirby grips. If you want a more volumized look, leave the bun rather loose and spray firmly for height, whilst if you favour a tighter bun,  wrap it closer to the nape of the neck.

Finish off with liberal amounts of hairspray as this will help the style stay in place throughout the day.

Voila- no gloss required, just a strong style statement that suggests you’re not to be messed with!
